SFU 3.5 username mapping on SBS 2003 Active Directory? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to setup some user name mapping for NFS share that are using Allegro NFS server. Is it possible for me to install SFU 3.5 on SBS 2003? I know its not supported under R2 but I'm not using that.

    Has anybody successfully achieved this?

My plan is to end up assigning uid's to groups if its possible. ie 'Domain Users' = UID 300. I can then add that to Allegro NFS Server and any domain user will be able to access that NFS share. Correct me if this is not going to work!

Any help with SFU 3.5 and SBS 2003 is appreciated as I'm completely new to it and there is very little info on it!

  • If you are asking whether SFU 3.5 can be installed on SBS 2003 -- I would say I see no reason why it shouldn't. Obviously, do a backup of your server beforehand :-)

But, if you are looking for someone with expertise in SFU / Allegro NFS / SBS, I haven't found much out there at all from my searching. If someone could point you in the right direction, Charlie Russel may be of some help - http://msmvps.com/blogs/russel/
