Windows XP VM very slow after windows 10 upgraded to 1709

    Question

  • Hi i have a Windows XP VM on a windows 10 pro system , on 1703 it ran fine but after windows 10 decided to upgrade to 1709 it now runs extremely slow and also the clock is loosing time.

The Host speed is fine I5-7500 , 8Gb ram and before 1709 installed itself there were no issues.

I have reinstalled hyper-v and the virtual switch but it has not helped

Disabled dynamic memory and set it to 4Gb ram.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated

  • The old system(XP) of browsing in workgroups depends on SMB 1.0 and the computer browser service. However, SMB 1.0 is disabled by default in Windows 10 1709 version

You could enable SMB 1.0 in Windows 10 1709 host via Windows Feature and check again.

    Regards
