  • Hi Dev,

Settings for these services are stored in the Windows registry. For the Server service this location is:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver]

The corresponding location for the Workstation service is

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanworkstation]

Exporting these two keys from another PC running Windows 7 would restore the missing Services. And for the Netlogon Access Denied error, we'll look at it later.

  • I have the same issue- and copying the reg from another server doesn't help.

In fact, in some ways it's worse: I now have an entry in the "services" snap-in called "lanmanserver".

Its status is shown as "Failed to Read Description: error Code: 1813"

If I try to start it, I get: Error 193: 0xc1
