Task scheduler corrupted after downgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 7

  • Hello.

Just buyed used Thinkpad T420 from local dealer and it had windows 10 installed. Wanted windows 7 so dealer downgraded to Windows 7 pro 64bit. Everything else is working fine but when i open up task manager i get about 20 warnings about corrupted tasks "Task either corrupted or tampered with" . Ran SFC but it did not find any problems.

I have read about deleting corrupted tasks from windows32/system/tasks and registry but since there are over 20 of them seems be big job... Just wondering if Microsoft is releasing tool (or this there already tool) to fix corrupted tasks?

    Thank you.

  • There is a tool but you have already run it called SFC. You should have the dealer fix those errors.  There may simply not be a correct win 7 driver for a win 10 machine.  Did he give you a win 7 key?

  • Just find out this program and it fixed all the problems. Seems to be quite usual problem when downgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 7 so Microsoft should release fix for this problem...

  • There is already the topic with the same issue described.

SFC /SCANNOW does nothing with Task Scheduler, i.e. it does not touch c:\Windows\System32\Tasks folder. Same goes for DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /RESTOREHEALTH
