getting windows media player (vista x64) to recognize/index other media files (mkv, ogg etc)???

    Question

  • I am trying to use windows media player to index all my anime but some of it is in mkv container and I have played around with the registry a little but i can't get windows media player to recognize mkv files.

The files play just fine when i force it to open. But I would like to be able to add them to my "library" for use with the search/organization functions of windows media player.

Any assistance with this is greatly appreciated.

  • VUZE is a lot of s***t.

I am a teacher at a school for special education for under priviledged children and would like to use the educational material on VUZE as an additional attraction in class to capture their attention, which is most of the time a challenge.

The videos downloaded are protected, and not by DRM but some other infection, which renders the material useless on any computer but the one downloaded on. We do not have access to the internet from the classroom and I need to write the videos to disk to show it in class.

The material I obtain from THEPIRATEBAY is far more usefull.

This problem applies to all .MKV and .WMV files.

    Best Regards
