Office 2007 won't open ppt, excel... I followed all your steps RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Running Win7. I followed all your steps for getting MS office 2007 to get the full office program working properly (can't get back to the same thread online now), re. unchecking .net in "features," restarting, checking .net again, re-starting, reinstalling from my disk the entire MSOffice 2007 program (which I had purchased). Wouldn't install from the disk itself, so I made a new folder in "programs," called it Microsoft7, put the MS Office .exe in there, THEN tried running the install again from the .exe I'd copied to my DESKTOP (in addition to it now being in a my folder in MSOffice in Programs). For the umpteenth time, the install program said it "couldn't find" xcel and that I should browse to a folder. I selected my newly made Microsoft7 folder. Got an error saying it was an "invalid" location. I hope there is a solution for this. I've spent way too much time trying to get the full office suite working.
