  • Question

  • I just now installed Windows 10 on my PC today. Nothing seemed to be wrong at first until I was going to activate Windows 10. I Got the error message 0x8007007B. When I was looking for more info about the error I typed in "cscript slmgr.vbs -ato" and responded with "C:\WINDOWS\system32>cscript slmgr.vbs -ato

  • Hi Ken,

    Thank you for your question.

    Did you deploy KMS server?

The error 0x8007007B occurs when there is a network issue between Windows 10 client and KMS server if we deploy KMS server, please make sure Windows 10 client ping KMS server without any problems (include DNS resolve).

If we didn’t deploy KMS server, we could make sure Windows 10 client could connect to Internet without any problems, then go to Start  button icon, then select Settings > Update & security > Activation.

We could refer to the following links to troubleshooting:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929826

Notice: the link also apply to Windows 10.

    Best Regard,
