Backup failed, error code "2155348010" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everybody,

I'm getting the error: “The backup operation that started at ... has failed with following error code '2147942406'. Please review the event details for a solution, and then rerun the backup operation once the issue is resolved.” In the  Eventlog of Windows Backup when DPM 2016 is trying to make a system state/bare metal recovery snapshot.

The DPM has to backup 8 Servers as a BMR Protection. All Windows Server 2012 and above works fine and the status will be OK, but on Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Servers, the backup fails everytime. The Servers are having enough Space on C: and I have run MSinfo to see that the Datasize is 512 KB. Also a manual Backup by “wbadmin.exe start backup -allcritical -backuptarget:\\”DPMServername”\”Foldername”" will be successful.

Is there any known Issues for the DPM2016 or what can I do, to get a successful BMR Backup

Thank you very much for your support!

  • Hi,

This is a know issue and is fixed in the DPM 2016 update rollup 2 (UR2)

DPM 2016 UR2 was released today and is available on the download center.

KBID  3209593 Update Rollup 2 for System Center 2016 Data Protection Manager
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3209593/update-rollup-2-for-system-center-2016-data-protection-manager

You need to stop BMR protection and delete the replica, then re-protect BMR so a new replica with correct sector size gets created.
