IE 10 update / install failed error code 9C47 RRS feed

  • Hi

    We have Windows 7 x64 SP1 with IE 9 installed.

    Now we want to update IE 10 in all the system

    But , in some system it gets failed with error code 9C47

    In C:\Windows\IE10_main.log it  shows with some files versions shows with False , However in systems with IE 10 successfully installed its all True

    Till now we Tried  following with no luck.

    1. Sfc /scan now
    2. Uninstall dotnetframework and reinstall
    3. Uninstall IE9 and install IE 10 using offline installer.
    4. Downloaded prerequisted updates from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2770065?wa=wsignin1.0
    5. Tired Troubleshooting a failed installation of Internet Explorer 10 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2820688

    Also in some system its get installed after repairing “Dotnet framework” and “Dotnet framework client profiler”

  • ad 2. Have you used Aaaron Stebner removal tool?

    ad 4 You have installed the following?

    • 2729094 An update for the Segoe UI symbol font in Windows 7 and in Windows Server 2008 R2 is available
    • 2731771 An update that provides new APIs for conversion between local time and UTC in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2 is available
    • 2533623 Microsoft Security Advisory: Insecure library loading could allow remote code execution
    • 2670838 A platform update is available for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

    What does WindowsUpdate.log say?

    When installing these 4 updates.

    KB2731771
    KB2533623
    KB2670838

    It says update is already installed or not applicable

  • I suggest you manually install the IE 10 in clean boot mode and check the result.

    Download IE 10 installation file from Microsoft Download Center website:

    Internet Explorer 10 installers for 64-bit platforms

    Disable all the third party security programs and boot in Clean Boot and double click it to install IE 10.

    Tried using IE 10 Offline Full installer after clean boot but it didn't work

    But, still asking to click on get update and when trying install that update it says
    update is not applicable or already installed.

    Sorry to hear you're having issues installing. If you're able, please could you send in your log files (detailed below). Please send to IE10PQ at microsoft dot com.

    1.)    %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs*.log

    2.)    %windir%\panther\*

    3.)    %windir%\panther\UnattendGC\*

    4.)    %windir%\ie10_main.log

    5.)    %windir%\logs\*ie10*.log

    6.)    %windir%\WindowsUpdate.log

  • I had the same problem but I solved it by downloading IE10 and installed it manually.
