Issue in SCCM Content Download Windoes 10-1903 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having an strange issue in with Win 10-1903 only, my clients on 1903 are not downloading the content for anything (Apps,Package,Update etc), this behaviour is unusual as I have 1803 and 1809 clients works perfectly with same client policies,GPO,Firewall everything is exactly same. also these clients (1903 and 1803/1809) have no connectivity on Internet.

Another interesting fact, when I give my 1903 clients internet connectivity they starts working perfectly downloading the content fine.

I know this issue is related to BITS mostly, but cant figure it what is wrong in 1903 in particular, I am wondering if anyone else have face the similar problem on win10-1903

Please help me understand, what might be wrong in case of win10-1903.

** The error I get the Datatransferservice logs.

DTS job {3275F452-897A-4689-86D8-4A7014E390B8} BITS job {16D41EB5-0E49-400D-BF08-A24701AD4A99} failed to download source file http://<SiteName>:80/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/Content_e5b15e1b-9905-4170-9445-bef89f051bc6.1/sccm?/Adobe_Reader_DC_2015_x86_PKG_All.ps1 to destination C:\WINDOWS\ccmcache\4\Adobe_Reader_DC_2015_x86_PKG_All.ps1 with error 0x80200010

    Thanks for the help.

  • Hi,

BITS Return 0x80200010 means: The network adapter is inactive or disconnected. All jobs are placed in the BG_JOB_STATE_TRANSIENT_ERROR state.

  • Hi,

I had the same problem in my LAB, I have upgraded my SCCM to 1902, promote the 1902 client as production-client then upgrade it in the Windows 10 1903.

To support Windows 10 1903, you need at least SCCM CB 1902 or 1906.

  • What is the status of BITS service?

Are you doing a push or manual installation? Have you promoted the SCCM 1902 client as production client or not yet?

Check also in the event viewer.

  • BITS service is running on both(client and server), Yes i have promoted the SCCM 1902 client as production client.
    Sunday, September 8, 2019 5:03 PM
  • Yes, I agree its doesnt matter if its SCCM 1902, the problem still occurs without Internet connectivity.
    Friday, September 27, 2019 12:17 PM
  • Client installation works with manual installation, Package/application distribution failed if the clients doesnt have internet connectivity, even if the SCCM is 1902 with latest patch.

  • No solution so far, it might worth raise a case with Microsoft support for this.
    Monday, October 14, 2019 1:09 PM
  • What SCCM build version are you using? i havent seen this issue between 1810 - 1906
When the deployments fail do you see them in software centre at 0% downloading and a folder created within the ccmcache folder? And this is the same for both LAN and WLAN connection?

Dont think this is related to this issue, but have you checked that Windows 10 Delivery optimization has been enabled perhaps try disabling this and trying again

  • Everything are in CB, was also the case with previous SCCM Branch

It is not related to SCCM, but only occurs with Windows 10 1903

When i try to push the client, i get:
A retry attempt will be made. Error: 0x80200010, Description There are currently no active network connections. Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) will try again when an adapter is connected.
It is well connected to the internal network without internet access
Once I activate the second Nic with internet access, it works as expected.
    What's the difference

During imaging, the TS is setup to run all from DP, and packages works (as no download required), not applications

    Thanks

  • I just found the culprit: No default gateway was configured on my DHCP server, i have added a valid IP and now everything working great, even without any internet connection.
Now, why 1903 need that one and not lower version ....
I am working in a test environment with VMWARE
