Hi,
I suggest you try the following:
1. Boot into Clean Boot Mode and try updating again.2. Run the Microsoft Fixit and see how it works.
Fix the problem with Microsoft Windows Update that is not working
3. Try System Update Readiness tool by referring to What is the System Update Readiness Tool?.
4. Run System File Checker tool and see how it works.
Hope this helps.

Hey there, i have the same problem trying to upgrade my operating system to 10 on a Toshiba satellite with 8.1 .
I tried all of those, when i used the microsoft windows update fix it tool thing it helped but not fixed the problem.
When i tried the SFC.exe it came back with several errors, so please could you tell me how to replace system files with known good ones as i do not understand how to do that with the directions given,.... It would be much appreciated.
Thanks
