Using Skype with Windows 7 64 bit

    Question

  • I don't know if this is a question for Microsoft or Skype. I have just bought a new Dell Desktop PC Inspiron 560MT with Intel Core 2 Quad-Core Q8300 processor and with Windows 7 64-bit pre-installed along with Skype Version 4.1.0.179. On my previous PC running XP, I used Skype Version 3.8.0.180 and I loved that version of Skype. I hate the new user interface in Skype version 4.1.0.179.

Is it possible to run Skype version 3.8.0.180 in Windows 7? If so, do I need to do anything special when installing it?

  • It seems Skype version 3.8.0.180 is not compatible with Windows 7. According to the users feedback in Skype forum, version 3.6 works in Windows 7 properly. You can have a try. J
