Printer printing backwards?

    Question

  •  After installing a shared printer on my vista computer, I printed a test page that came out backwards. I tried fixing this by checking the "Mirror Image" box on the Basics tab in printing preferences. It still prints backwards. I have an HP Deskjet 3845 connected to a PC running XP shared to my computer running Vista Home Premium.

    Any ideas?

  • The same thing is happening to us with our HP Deskjet 1300 that we purchased here in India.  And it was working fine (well at least OK)  for a long time.  None of us here have answers but at least in this forum we can have fellowship in our sufferings.

  • Hold the phone!  Somehow I stumbled upon the answer!  Your Control panel in your computer has settings for printers and you can check to make sure Mirror Image is not on.... But also the HP printer program ALSO has a place for setting the printer preferences, and I discovered in my case THAT was the one that had mirror image sent to ON.  So be sure to check both the generic printer settings in your control panel AND  the HP ones (which I found in the icon "HP Solutions" on my desktop).  Victory is ours!

  • I haven't received any help in this issue yet, but this will no longer be an issue for me since I got rid of my windows vista computer. Up to this date I had to send my files to the XP machine but I'm completely sure that I had no HP printing software installed on any of my computers. Thank you for trying to help.

  • As a follow on from this, my HP L7680 was printing absolutely fine running Vista Ultimate, but then I applied SP1 and the Mirror Image option on my HP got set to ON!!! I didn't even know the mirror option existed.

Something strange in the SP1 install - lets start the list here...
