"Windows 7 Build 7600 This copy of windows is not genuine"

    Question

  • I boot camped windows 7 ultimate on my macbook pro 13". A few days later, "Windows 7 Build 7600 This copy of windows is not genuine" appeared on the lower right corner of my screen shortly after my wallpaper was replaced with a blank black screen.

How do I fix this? I'll be really grateful if anyone could help.

  • Just reinsert the serial key

    Right click Computer > Properties

All the way at the bottom under Windows activation you should see "Change product key" click it and put in your key and walla. Windows will be genuine and no more activation issues.

  • Today I noticed also the same message on my 1 year old laptop Asus X7010 with intel duo core 2 T6600 (windows 7 home premium)

I believe it came into my pc after the microsofts recent updates because after that I began to notice it.

I run a moment ago a software called "advanced system care" and now sitting here and was going to complain on this forum about this error text on my desktop

I noticed the text ""Windows 7 Build 7600 This copy of windows is not genuine"" was suddenly gone!

Not sure now if I scared the message away with my writings in this forum :-) or if the "advanced system care" software "fixed" the problem, but at least the message is no longer on my desktop !!

I am a tech guy working on computers on a regular basis, and I have used the software "advanced system care" a lot during the last 5 years and it has helped me a lot of times with my own pc problems and with my customer computer problems.

Try it and see if it helps, the software is free to download, and it is also spam free and ad free, no strings attached.

Hope it helps for this issue for someone else also

.....if you're lucky :) - You do realise that this thread has been in it's grave for over a year?

If not, post an MGADiag report in your OWN NEW Thread, and someone (usually me) will take a look and try to help you fix it.

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
      - **in your own thread**, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine, but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
