My USB Webcam doesn't work.

    Question

  • Processor: AMD 3600+ Dual Core
    Memory: 2GB
    Graphics: nVidia Gefore 8400SE
    OS: Windows 7 Build: 7100
Motherboard: Gigabyte S2 AM socket 2

My Intex USB PC Camera Night Vision webcam (Model No: IT-305WC) doesn't work on after installed Windows 7, although it worked perfectly fine when i had Windows XP SP2 installed previously. The error message reads "Not found valid capture device"

I tried reinstallin a number of times but to no avail. I even found that Windows 7 ran automatic updates which installed some driver called "Vimicro". I think this is meant as a substitute for my webcam drivers or whatever.Anyways, the bottom line is that i can't get my Webcam to work.Any ideas as to why?

Unfortuntely, many users are thus far having some trouble getting older webcams to work under Windows 7, due to a lack of driver support. If your CPU is sophisticated enough, I'd recommend trying your camera under XP Mode with Microsoft's new Virtual PC until updated drivers are available.
