I have been using Windows Vista x64 on my Mesh built pc for a few years now but recently I had to force a shutdown after a game crash and the computer became unresponsive for some time. I am now unable to startup and taken directly to Windows Boot
Manager with the following display
Windows Boot Manager
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the Problem:
1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
Info: Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing, or corrupt.
By pressing ENTER I am taken Startup Options where all the choices (Safe Mode) (Last Known Config) take me back to the initial Windows Boot Manager display.
I also do not have a hard copy of the recovery disc which I understand could help. Nevertheless any help would be greatly appreciated
