My graphics card won't play the game

    Question

  • I have just installed a Diamond Stealth Radeon 9250 256mb pci graphics card into my system.  My system is winxp Home Editon Version 2002, SP3  with a Pentium 4 CPU at 3.00 GHz, 2.99 GHz, 1.00GB of RAM and a 32-bit driver. I am trying to install a game Spore creature creator for my son.   The graphics card intalled and software no problem.  Installed the game, not a problem.  I tried to launch the game and it tells me "Sorry your graphics card is below our min spec".  I meet all the requirements, do I have to much?  The game requires 128mb.

  • That card does not meet the min. Spore specs , (or spore creator specs ), even though the memory passes the requirements, the graphics rendering part of the card doesn't pass the requirements :

    1. The min. cards start with the ATI Radeon™ series 9500.
    2. The card supports up to DirectX 8.1, but it doesn't support DirectX 9, which Spore requires DX 9.

I suggest getting a better graphics card, even if you get this card working with Spore it will play poorly.
