  • Question

  • I wonder if, at times, after running a Full scan, anyone has gotten a report that just says:

"Your PC is being monitored and protected.."

and not the (usual) report that is received after a Quick scan that says

    "Scan completed on 543123 items.

No threats were detected on your PC during the scan.

Your PC is being monitored and protected."

This has happened on my WinXP computer, where the Full scan report is "Your PC is being monitored and protected," which the report after the Quick scan says "Scan Compoleted on 543123 items.  No threats were detected on your PC during the scan. Your PC is being monitored and protected."

Seems to be two different reports.

Is there something wrong with my MSE because it shows the two different reports after Full and Quick scan?

  • Hi Alice,

The different scan report for Full scan and Quick scan is by designed, and your MSE worked fine.

I would like to share following articles for your reference and to know more about MSE:

  • But the Full Scan Report and Quick Scan Report shows differently on some of my computers.

On the Vista and Win 7, the Full Scan and Quick Scan reports show the same thing. Namely:

    "Scan completed on 543123 items.

No threats were detected on your PC during the scan.

Your PC is being monitored and protected."

On my Win XP, the Quick Scan shows:

    "Scan completed on 543123 items.

No threats were detected on your PC during the scan.

Your PC is being monitored and protected."

    BUT,

    The FULL SCAN "Only" shows:

"Your PC is being monitored and protected.."

It doesn't show the other two lines:

    "Scan completed on 543123 items.

No threats were detected on your PC during the scan."

  • Hi Alice,

Please be aware that Full scan is to scan all areas of your PC, and Quick scan is to scan the areas of your PC that malicious software is most likely to infect.

Most of the time, the reports for these 2 scans should be different. Based on my knowledge background, I cannot explain why the MSE report same results in Windows Vista and 7, it’s not reseanable.

Regarding current situation, I suggest contacting MSE support for help as they can be more professional on this product:

    Thanks for your understanding.
