Windows 7 Experience Index Rating Low?

    Question

  • I have a Q6600 GO @ 3.2 4gb of DDR2@ 1200mhz  2 gtx 285 ocxs in SLI and a velociraptor HDD. For some reason my score is pretty low for that setup i get a 5.3 my gpus got rated a 5.3 which is totally rediculous seeing its one of the best setups possible right now. Anyone else having similar issues in windows 7? Maybe its jus a weird issue with the pre release or drivers or something my hdd got rated a 5.9 my ram a 6.3 and cpu 6.1 so its kinda annoying

  • Drums,

Windows 7 will only rate SSDs higher than a 5.9 for drive access speed. As for your GPU, I agree that such a powerful setup should be rated higher than a 5.3, but so long as your video card seems to be performing to spec otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it until the final release.

  • Hello Drums,

I do agree that your graphics and hard drive rating should be higher but I'm also inclined to agree with Lead and Alex.  As long as everything runs well I would wait for the final release to worry about the index score.  I've personally seen some insane numbers in the ratings.  My 256Mb vid card gets a 6.3 while my SATA 2 drives get a whopping 4.5 .

  • Why are you annoyed? Does your computer not work properly? Remember it is still a beta. What drivers are you using?

  • axfelix,

are you sure only SSDs are higher than 5.9?

    I have a 80GB Intel X-25M SSD and it is only 5.9

    thanks
