Hp monitor w17e says: "input not supported" at startup

  • Whenever I start up my computer, the monitor would have a floating box saying that "input not supported" and when I press f8 or esc, it woudl restart but then goes back to the same black screen with the floating box. My system is Windows Vista. It was working fine before, what could be wrong?

  • Your settings are beyond the resolution of your monitor. In this case I used legacy CRT ith high resolution, or sometime the automatic settings button on monitor helps.

Can you get into safe mode via F8?

  • Hi,

You may also press F8 before splash logon appears, then Enable low resolution video for a test.
