Creative sound card drivers won't install

    Question

  • I'm running Windows 7 on a dual-boot system with XP Home SP2.

The sound card is a Creative SB0790 (X-Fi Extreme Audio), which works fine under XP.

I've downloaded the most recent Vista drivers from Creative. The installation routine reports "driver version not found".

Has anyone succeeded in installing this card?

  • It seems the Xtreme audio is not included in these drivers for some reason, i would recommend using the Daniel_K drivers instead.

Many thanks for the link. That sounded just the ticket. Unfortunately, I got the message "Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system."
