Printer driver for HP DeskJet 920c

    Question

  • This printer has worked for me flawlessly for years. Now with Win7 Beta, the driver's aren't present by default, and using Windows Update, still doesn't produce working drivers. Any suggestions?

  • Yes, I was able to get the driver by going to

Control panel > Hardware and Sound > Device manager
I found my 920c under "Other Devices"
Right-click and select "Update driver software"
Click "Search automatically for updated driver software"
Took a little while to download and install, but worked in the end

  • As there is currently no Vista driver available for Windows Vista, have you tried the one for Windows XP from the HP Homepage or the information provided about running the printer on Vista?

  • The XP driver won't extract on my 64-bit installation. I just think it's a sad step backwards (and will be filing a bug) that the driver worked in Vista, but now I'm stuck not having a perfectly good printer.
