home folder mapping process RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone,

does anyone know how the home folder mapping process works at logon ? (wich process is actually mapping the drive etc..)

i ask this question because, when the storage holding our homefolders is not available, the logon process can take up to 15 minutes. (the storage is somekind of dfs (non-microsoft), so the name can be available when pinged, but it doesnt mean the actual storage is available...)

i would like to know if the process can be tweaked in the registry ? for example : set a timeout.

    thanks
