My Insider preview 19536.1000 fails with an error 0xc1900101 RRS feed

  • I am on the fast track and have tried to update a HP Pavilion notebook and a Dell Studio XPS desktop. Both have failed respectively with an error code 0xc1900101.

  • An error that begins with 0xC1900101 is usually a driver error.

  • I had the same issue, When I inadvertently turned off virtualization in my BIOS resetting it and the problem was solved. I installed the rs_prerelease with no problem. But I could not run any of my WSL-2 Linux distributions. So I re-enable virtualization and Windows refuses to boot. My solution was to turn off FAST updates after reverting to 19041.1 (vb_release) and forgetting about 19536.1000. After re-enabling SVM in the BIOS all my WSL-2 distributions are working and my system is back to normal.
