Installing Windows 10 on computers with a Win7 license RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello ,
we have several older laptops in the organization with a license for Windows 7 and 8. A large part of them was certainly upgraded to the Windows 10 version during the "Get Windows 10" campaign, which ended on July 29, 2016. How can I verify on which laptop the free system upgrade option was used now since all drives have been reset? If during the installation of Windows 10 gives a key from a sticker stuck on the computer, but the Windows 7 license and the system activates, it means that the installation is legal? Is it the same with laptops with a license for Windows 8 and a key sewn in the BIOS? When it installs Windows 10 and indicates that I do not have a product key and the system is activated after installation, does it mean that the installation is also legal?
