1903 Basic Unattend.xml File RRS feed

  • Question

  • I already have 1903 computers built out. All they need Sysprep. I just need to know where in Unattend.xml file do I need to fill in? Do I need to start with #1 (win PE) or just need to #7 (oobe) and / or #4 (specialize)? I just need to answer what sysprep wants after the reboot, nothing more.

  • Hi,

"I already have 1903 computers built out. "

Do you mean you already have deployed Windows 10 1903 to clients? But you want to use sysprep to customize those clients, right?

It is not necessary to start with WinPE, but boot to OOBE to customize account,  and generalize is also necessary, with the configuration, the specialize configuration pass runs and a new security ID (SID) will be created.

  • They are built out but NOT deployed. I Sysprep them, go through the OOBE screens, and rename them. I just want to get past the OOBE screens (not a big deal)...

  • You only need oobeSystem pass for the OOBE pages.

  • Hi,

For skipping OOBE, we could refer the following link to skip OOBE stage.
