event viewer .log files RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi there

does anyone know how i can get .log files to be viewed in event viewer?

we have a piece of software that monitors event viewer, but the backup software that we have doesn't create an event in event viewer, only creates a .log file and saves in a certain location.

    thanks in advance

  • Hi Dave,

thanks for your reply. do you know of any way that this can be worked around?

we use delta copy backup that logs .log files for the backup reports, but could really do with getting them into the event viewer as we us monitoring software that sends notifications on certain events.

    thanks

  • I'd ask the application developer about writing notifications to the event log directly.

  • Hi Gary,

I cannot confirm if this is helpful as I'm not good at programing.

How to write to an event log by using Visual C#
