Domain joined computer cannot login to domain RRS feed

  • Question

  • Windows 8 "standard" PC purchased
Bought and applied the Pro Pack, says it was successful

Joined the domain successfully, I see the computer name in Active Directory and it is reporting the correct OS there (only 8.1 computer in the domain).

Local workstation reporting it is part of the domain in system properties and I see the domain admins in the local computer group Administrators.

Reboot after domain join and try to login, I click other user to login to a domain account (it doesn't show the domain name like it normally should). So I attempt to login with a domain account specifying the domain two different ways. Shepherd\username and username@shepherd****.local, both report that I have to login with my email address.

Log back in as a local admin, removed the computer from the domain, rebooted

    Rejoined the domain "successfully"

Still exhibiting the behavior of not accepting a domain login

Obviously, DNS servers are working as I was able to join the domain. And I have verified that they are referencing our internal AD DNS.

I have tried logging on with different domain accounts
