Remote Desktop RDP RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to protect desktop setting from changing after a RDP session.  After the session some of my shortcut's are gone -AND- the resolution has changed.  Very annoying since I use RDP to my main desktop several times a day from outside access points.

  • Hi, thank you for posting here.

Did you do something with your main pc when remote from outside? Usually the shortcut on desktop will not disappear except you delete it. And you find the file and shortcut from c:\Users\user\Desktop.

This following link showed how to prevent changes to active desktop:

It works on Windows XP but also works on Windows 7
