Joining a Domain RRS feed

  • Question

  • In XP, I use to migrate workstations from one domain to another by changing the workgroup field, OK'ing through the dialog boxes save the last one: Do you want to Restart Now?  Instead of restarting, I would go back into system properties, join the new domain (or rejoin, whatever) and reboot.  This would save me a reboot.

Today, on Vista biz, I found I was unable to save myself the second reboot.  Once I joined the workgroup, it ghosted out the properties pages and forced me to reboot.  I wasn't even able to change my mind.

Is there a reason for this change?

    Thanks!
