Upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi:

I have a customer that needs to upgrade their Windows 10 Home machines to Windows 10 Pro.

So, I contacted my distributor to get the correct MS SKU.  They said the customer must use Retail SKU FQC-09131 that cost $205 since MS doesn't have a volume licensing path/SKU from Home to Pro.  I quoted the customer accordingly.

The customer called me back and said they can upgrade to Pro using the Activation wizard for $99, i.e. direct to Microsoft.  They were hoping I could get them a discount off the $99.

After a quick search online, it does look like people can upgrade directly from Home to Pro for $99:

Am I missing something here?  Is there another SKU to upgrade Home to Pro for which we, as MS Partners and resellers, can provide a discount to the customer compared to MS direct retail pricing of $99?

Thanks so much for any insights.

  • Hi Bob,

I am afraid you should contact with supervisor sales or other related department as this forum is focus on troubleshooting Windows issue, so we are not familiar with Microsoft product sales strategy. But thank you for coming TechNet forum.
