Desktop Windows Vista displays"computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed & configured" .

  • Trying to connect the desktop to the Linksys Wireless-N Router. The modem and router is connected to a laptop and trying to get the desktop on the network. How do I find out if it originally had a wireless network adapter and how do I activate it?

  • you should check behind the system unit(what you might know as the C.P.U)  where you have other ports and plugs, see if you see anything like the devices here .

it might also come USB connected.

if you do, then it means its the drivers for the wireless card that needs to be installed.

eitherways, to configure that desktop to connect to the modem via the router, you need to buy a wireless network adapter, install appropriate drivers(which should be provided by the hardware manufacturer) and then configure appropriate TCP/IP settings. let me know what you come up with.Goodluck
