  • There is enough information at the KB to perform my own repairs since I am an IT specialist.

May consider a quick update to that KB or create a new Windows 8 version. Article appears to apply to OS other than Windows 8. FixIt for me option does not run on Windows 8 (mine is 64 bit). Fix it yourself instructions are for an OS other than Windows 8.

  • I am having this same issue. I tried to use your "Fix it" and it failed to do so for me. I do not know very much about working on issues like this myself. I can follow instructions, but the one's listed to follow were not very helpful either. Please help me if you can. Every time I start up this pops up on my notepad. ALSO, I had updates that needed done because I have not been on my laptop for quite some time. Over a year at least. And I noticed all this happening after those updates took place. Could it have had something to do with that? I have Calibre for my ebooks and I am having problems updating it as well and I do believe it is all tied together. Thanks so much for your time!
