I run the command from an administrative prompt "Get-WindowsUpdatelog" and it generates the log and dump it to desktop, but the information in this file is like this...

  • Hi Andreas2012,

I tested much in my lab and it's pity that I didn't meet the issue that can't generate window10 update log. And I failed to found useful information about this issue.

Maybe you can turn to window 10 forum for better help, since this forum is more related with Windows Update issue:

  • Hi Andreas2012,

I can get the windows update log correctly on win10.

You may check if delete the wrong log and run Get-WindowsUpdateLog in powershell could work.

  • I am having the same issue when I try to generate the log file using an account which is not allowed to pass the proxy.

I think it needs to reach a symbol server on the internet to generate the file, and if it can't, you get this kind of output.

Make sure you are allowed to reach the internet when you generate the file, and it should solve the issue.

    Best Regards
