Windows XP on W7

    Question

  • I restored backups from my existing Win XP installation to Windows 7 'Virtual Windows XP', made necessary repairs, etc.
Everything works, except I cannot install Virtual PC Integration Components - installation is rolled back every time. I figured out, that it is about installing VPC Bus driver (VPCGBus). In Device Manager there is an unknown device for it. If I try to install driver manually, it successfully recognizes that it is VPC Guest Bus, but finishes every time with 'fatal error'.
    Any ideas?

  • Hi

Did you use a specific backup-repair tool to restore backups ? What kind of repairs did you have to make ? Virtual PC Integration Components are pre-installed on "Virtual Windows XP". Hence, I'm not sure why you are installing it again.
Please send %temp%\VPCICInstallLog from inside the Virtual Windows XP to wcvdata@microsoft.com .

    Thanks
