Samsung R540 touchpad driver Win8

Pregunta
-
Does anyone know where or how I can get a touchpad driver for win8 for the Samsung NP-R540-S01DE?
This is a ACPI\VEN_PNP&DEV_0F13 device of Elan Microelectronis Corp.
I tried nearly all drivers you can find in the net but none of them did help. Of course I uninstalled every tested driver before trying the next one.
Meanwhile using the newer drivers they get installed but the configuration window is completely empty.
Any ideas on this?
Michael

Is there any error when you install the latest driver from Samsung website?
Did you try install it using compatibility mode?
Contact Samsung support for this issue.

The Microsoft Update Catalog shows that some Elan drivers were available for W8 CP and some were W7 Driver Testing Client but none were kept for W8 RTM.
BTW what version do you have? The highest version listed in the Catalog is 7.0.5.1 but here is someone referring to 11.

I installed Elan Smart-pad driver 11.14.1.3. It basically works just fine, I have all the gestures and stuff.

But I wonder where it came from because here is a FAQ from Elan:http://www.emc.com.tw/eng/st_tpn_sp.asp
<quote>
Q: Where can I download the Elan's driver?
Please download it from your system manufacturer's website.</quote>
Here's another one of uncertain origin but also version 11.
Caveat emptor. ; }
BTW is this what you are trying to get working?http://www.emc.com.tw/eng/tpn_sp_fun.asp
That looks very similar to N-trig's N-Act feature. I had that working in the W8 DP but when I looked at how MS were redefining Touch with their "Touch Language" I decided to remove it and haven't tried it since. I imagine the N-trig won't be very interested in making it work in W8 either.
