  • Hi

    Is it possible to reinstall Microsoft Store?

    My OS is Windows 10 Enterprise 64 Bit, v. 1809

    I have tried several powershell scripts found online

    Uninstall & Reinstall Store Right click on Windows Start > Right click on Windows Powershell (Admin) > Copy the following from below and right click in Powershell to paste > Enter <o:p></o:p>

    Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage<o:p></o:p>

    Copy the following from below and right click in Powershell to paste > Enter > Reboot your computer <o:p></o:p>

    Get-AppxPackage -allusers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”} <o:p></o:p>

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your question.

    You can tried to use powershell script to reinstall windows store.

    Have you tried the command you found online? Does it work?

  • Hello,

    The command you mentioned:

    a) removes Store package from system which may make it not possible to reinstall Store

    b) the second command will re-register all apps using their packages present.

    If you're concerned only about Store app, you can re-register the app with following steps:

    1. Search for Windows PowerShell using Cortana or Windows Search.

    2. From results, right click on Windows PowerShell and select Run as administrator.

    3. Then type following command and press Enter key:

    Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    Let the command complete.

    4. Close Windows PowerShell.

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi It-Guy-808.

    Open an administrative PowerShell windows and execute the below snippet

    Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    then exit PowerShell and restart the PC.
    If this does not work, try performing a repair upgrade of Windows 10 as described at

  • how is "Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore*" supposed to return anything, when the store is indeed uninstalled?
    All the following commands will then do nothing.

    I just wonder if this line can work at all.

  • Hello,

    If all else fails, doing a repair install should restore the Microsoft Store app without losing anything.
