  • Pertanyaan

  • before the upgrade (?) to 8.1,if i turned on my bluetooth speaker,it automatically took over from the speakers of my laptop. No drivers,no further changes needed.

After upgrading to 8.1 i have to disconnect the speaker, connect it again, then set the speaker as my standard speaker.then it plays.every time again and again.

  • Hi,

Did you upgrade to Windows 8.1 from Windows 7?

Can the laptop bluetooth device connect bluetooth speaker automatically if you turned on your bluetooth speaker?

I suggest you uninstall the bluetooth driver, and reinstall the bluetooth for Windows 8.1.

If the driver is ok,I think this issue is related to Playback devices.

Please check  the default audio device.

  • thx for the fast reply.

I upgraded from windows 8 unfortunatelly.

With windows 8 there was no need for a driver for the speaker, just switch on and it would play.

  • I have the same problem.

  • Me too.  It shows that it connects and briefly reads "Connected" and then quickly switches to "Not Connected".  My Windows Phone 8, when trying to connect to Windows 8.1 PC via Bluetooth is doing the same thing and I receive this both from the PC and the phone.  My phone does successfully connect to my Bluetooth speaker, but not from the PC only from the phone.   Has this been fixed yet and I missed it?  One thing I've learned while being a part of a smaller market share having had a Windows Phone for several years now, the solutions come quietly and sometimes go unnoticed.  Only later will I find myself thinking, "Oh yeah it works now, they've created a solution".  Case in point: Red Laser stopped working then shortly thereafter there was the Eye icon available at the Bing screen that can scan just about anything that can be scanned.  Is there a similar thing happening with my Bluetooth device drivers from my 8.1 PC and I need to manually push something?  When there is a solution, will you please alert me and the rest of this thread?  Thanks much in advance!

  • I have the same problem as well when I attempted to pair my Bluetooth speaker (MPOW) to my personal laptop running Windows 8.1. It just refused to connect after trying more than 5 times so I tried to pair to my work laptop which was still running on Windows 7 instead and it paired perfectly well. Please propose a solution to resolve this for Win 8.1. Thanks.

  • I have the same issue in 8.1.  It connects but seems to immediately disconnect.  I am using Photive CYREN Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker.  It has no problem connecting to my Samsung Galaxy S4 or my Nook HD+.  I have done all updates.  Please fix.

  • Same issue for me here with a Samsung HW-F455 soundbar.

I launch the BT on the Bar, and Windows 8.1 (upgraded from Windows 8) does detect it in the BT devices but not connect to it.

Only solution is to uninstall the BT drivers, then reinstall them ... then the first time you can connect to the BT device, but once it is disconnected you can't connect anymore ...

  • I was able to solve the "reconnect" issue, meaning issue where I could connect to the bar the irt time, but then not anymore once disconnected unless I reinstall the Driver.

The issue was solved by installing KB3000850.

I only have th eissue now that once I power on my soundbar, I need to manually ACTIVATE the device on the computer, as it does not automatically CONNECT to the device ... But I can re-connect manually now.

  • Problem:

My Bluetooth connects and sound test perfectly however, it will not connect to what is playing on the computer.

The speakers just keep playing as if the Bluetooth had not connected. I have removed and reinstalled the Bluetooth in the device manager, and service manager shows its running, and all the drivers are updated.

Also, my Ifrogz Bluetooth cannot be removed from the Bluetooth manager in devices, and it now has its own category under Bluetooth in the device manager.

The troubleshoot Bluetooth wizard no longer exists, it is gone.

The only fix I could find after hours of screwing with this was to go to the sound Icon at the bottom of the Computer Screen, open it, open the speaker mixer , then manually set the bluetooth as default in the drop down, then it works.

If you want the speakers, return and manually make speakers the default.

(Thank for the problem Microsoft, updates are always fun as this is the fifth time your update has screwed up my bluetooth, and I had to track it down wasting hours. )
