HELP with error 80080005 windows 7 RRS feed

  • Hi, 

    I have been trying to read these forums hoping to come up with a solution to my problem.

    I have tried every solution that everyone on the web has said to try on these various threads and nothing has worked. I has become extremely frustrating that there is no one who is willing to try to help me solve my problem. 

    I hope someone will be willing to help me out.

    Info:

    I am running windows 7 64 bit

    I have a hp pavilion dv7t 7000 

    I have been getting this update for a little over 2 weeks

    Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue occur?

    Method 1
    Reset windows update components.

    How do I reset Windows Update components?

    Method 2

    Perform clean boot and check for the updates.

    How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Method 3

    Run sfc /scannow

    Run chkdsk /r /f

    If the issue persist after above methods, please provide Windowsupdate.log and CBS.log for further troubleshoot.

    The message that I receive is: An error occurred while checking for new updates for your computer ERROR(S)FOUND: Code 80080005

    Windows update encountered an unknown error.

  • I would try to run sfc/scannow in cmd first then reinstall if needed

  • Well TechNet event support fails with 80080005,try control-panel/administrator/tools/Event viewer/windows/expand the tree,right click,open/properties/see what the OS says.
