2012 R2 shared printer install error RRS feed

  • Pergunta

  • Server 2012 R2 with shared printers, print management role installed.

Recently started where computers hang on the installing printer screen when trying to install a shared printer from the directory.

When canceling it, I get a 0x8000ffff Catastrophic error.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Please manually access the print device provider’s official website, search and download the driver based on device model.

On the problematic system, try to manually install appropriate printer driver which is compatible with current OS version and check the result. If it is working, please check/update printer driver which is stored on printer server.

Also, you can try to open Device Manager, remove and delete unavailable printers. Then, try to install again to check the result.
