  • Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums.

Please check if the following requirement is ready:

    1.     Download an MS-DOS 6.22 ISO

you can download this from AllBootDisks website: http://www.allbootdisks.com/download/iso.html

Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.

    2.      We will need a program that can burn ISOs to CD/DVD drives,  Check out Ultimate List Of Free CD/DVD Burning Programs

    3.     Once you have downloaded a program that can burn ISOs to CD/DVD drives you will need to burn the MS-DOS 6.22 ISO to your CD/DVD drive.

    4.     Once you have finished burning the ISO to your CD/DVD drive reboot your computer,  Your computer should boot in to MS-DOS 6.22.  If it doesn’t you need to go in to your BIOS and set the CD/DVD drive as the 1st boot device.

    Best Regards

  • Hi Magon,

Can you please tell me where I can find the "install" (exe(?)--ISO(?)) of MS DOS 6.x
I've tried to look for it, cannot find it.

I have the Batch file to Install, simply need the file.
Based on the Batch file, looks like it is named 1MSDOS62.EXE

    Thank you!!

  • I am using windows 7, and I wanted to boot the computer with DOS 6.22. I followed every step as stated in the post, except that I used the burn command in the Windows 7 to burn the files into the CD. I made changes in the bios settings as well, but when I tried to restart the computer using the CD, unfortunately, it did not boot from the CD. It started with windows 7. Any suggestion to overcome this problem, please.

    Thank you

  • I have acquired a large suite of dBase programs which I have no wish to rewrite. They work under a version of dBase which itself ran under DOS6.22, I believe, and are well tuned to the job I need to run.

I can load DOS 6.22 from an iso file exactly as described, and it works. I cannot, however, add sub-directories to either A: or R: and it looks though there is no write permission on either of these roots. Is this a problem of my making or simply that MSDOS6.22 does not work under Hyper V?

Windows 10 Pro Insider build 14905 or 14910.

    Thanks

  • Is it possible you haven't completed the install and the A: is the "FDD" space for the DOS install Source?  It can be tricky, especially if you are familiar with FDISK and FORMAT c: /s for "system" to make the bootable partition.
