  For any workround if your version is not on the list try asking in http://forums.creative.com/

  You need to physically remove the the card and locate the SBXXXX part #. Then use the link above to locate a driver.

  Hi,

   

  There is no Windows 7 compatible driver released on Creative site and Dell website. Only Windows XP/2000 driver is available, thus the sound card may not work in Windows 7. You may need to buy a new card or try installing the driver in Windows XP Mode.

  I can see why,I still have three of these cards and a live drive module.This chipset gave studio grade specs in a mastering studio I had in '99,it even matched-spec to spec,the hardware of the Mac systems of the time.Today,I like to connect my Bang & Olufsen system to this card,the playback fidelity is impressive.I would be interested in seeing it go up against an Antelope or any German tube based pre-amp/ada converter.

  Hi ppl

  I have a sound blaster live 5.1 too and in previous instalation of win 7 (done by a friend) i had the driver working. I don't know if it was with the XP compatibility, now i have formatted the pc and i can't find a working driver too.

  I also need help any news alert me to maxinone in gmail.

  Hi maxinone,

  Try one of these from Creative Labs. The first may work. You need to identify the card to get the right driver.

  Click Start=>type devmgmt.msc in the search box=>select the Sound,video and game controllers=>right-click the sound blaster device=>select properties=>select the details tab=>select the drop-down menu for Hardware ids=>write down that information.
