Video card question

  • My computer has Windows 7 professional 64-bits and Intel HD graphics 2000, but I'm considering to buy a nvidia card.

If I install the nvidia card, will I have to disable the Intel graphics driver or both drivers can work together?

  • @pcgamer1000-You don't have to disable it. As soon as you install a discrete graphics card, the motherboard will automatically switch to the discrete card and disable the HD graphics 2000 along with the driver(make sure your BIOS is configured properly-usually auto mode does the job-init primary display adapter). Then your Intel HD graphics 2000 will be disabled. You can remove the driver but I suggest you keep it since it might me required later if someday, the discrete graphics card fails and you have to see the onboard card or just for testing purposes. Install the latest NVIDIA driver and enjoy.
