  • Hi,

    Thanks for your question.

Can you help to collect the screenshot of disk management? It could be a spanned volume.

A spanned volume is a dynamic volume consisting of disk space on more than one physical disk. If a simple volume is not a system volume or boot volume, you can extend it across additional disks to create a spanned volume, or you can create a spanned volume in unallocated space on a dynamic disk.

You could refer to the article below to manage spanned volumes:

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

Whether your DISK1 consists of raid, please run "Get-physicaldisk" cmdlet to check it.

I found your 6 driveletter "d" output has the same size and different free size. The sum of your 6 free sizes equal to 119GB.

    Best regards,

  • Hi

The sum of SizeRemaining = 535GB

The only second disk has correct SizeRemaining

    Size : 162522984448
    SizeRemaining : 128554635264

    128554635264/(1024*1024*1024) = 119.725833892822 Gb

  • Here is another example. 2 MSFT_Volume records, and only 1 has correct SizeRemaining

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your question.

It's a very strange result. These volumes all have unique Id. I can't solve this problem now, I will continue to research it, if there is a new result, I will come back to update the post.

Also, I will suggest you post your issue in the File Services and Storage forum for better help:

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/home?forum=winserverfiles

  • My earlier reply seems to have got deleted ...?

This is a failover cluster right  (or even a SQL AG which uses clustering even though it uses local storage)

Unfortunately with clustering enabled, the local drives on each node (D: in this case) will all show up in the Get-volume or  in Get-WmiObject -Query "SELECT * FROM Msft_Volume"  -Namespace Root/Microsoft/Windows/Storage

    2019年8月22日 11:12
  • One way to just show the local disks on the current node is

    get-storagenode -name fully_qualified_name | get-Volume
    2019年8月22日 13:32
  • Warning, do NOT do the following, as it will format all the D: partitions !

    Get-partition -DriveLetter D | Format-Volume

as the Get-partition -DriveLetter D  returns all the occurances

Using other methods to format a d: drive will correctly only do the local D: drive
