Microsoft Print to PDF Reporting Configuration Problem RRS feed

  • 问题

  • Windows 10 Pro
    Version 1903 (OS Build 18362.418)

Tried to print to pdf from Edge.  Got error:

Also getting it for Microsoft XPS Document Writer.

Once I get the error selecting one of my hardware errors shows the same error message.  If I close the printer selection window and then open it with my default hardware printer selected the error does not show.

How do I get the Microsoft PDF and XPS writers working again?

    Edit: Please help

  • The print to PDF feature was checked.  I unchecked it and restarted.  I checked it and pressed OK.

    Got:
Windows couldn't complete the requested changes.
The changes couldn't be completed. Please reboot your computer and try again.
    Error code: 0x800F0922

Now the Microsoft Print to PDF is not in the printers list.

    Please help.

  • For error message:

Windows couldn't complete the requested changes.

The changes couldn't be completed. Please reboot your computer and try again.

    Error code: 0x800F0922

Open Local Group Policy Editor, navigate to the following path

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Specify settings for optional component installation and component repair.

By default, it should be set to Not Configured. Enabled and hit the Apply button.

    gpupdate or restart

Use this method to install Microsoft Print to PDF

It was set to disabled.  I changed it to enabled and rebooted.

Still cannot select the Microsoft Print to PDF.  I do it and when I hit apply I get the same error message above.

Edit: Is anybody there?  Does anybody care?

  • Wasted too much time.  Installed the free CutePDF Writer.

I would still like to know what happened.

Edit: While this allows me to print to PDF it is not a solution to the original problem.
