  • Frage

  • Dear all,

I using Excel Version 2013 and trying create calender in Excel (drop-down and printable). I tried what I found from websites

    Go to Start\All Programs\Accessories.
    * Right-click Command Prompt and then click on Run As Administrator.
    * Change directory to the folder where you extracted the files.  For example, type the following and then press Enter:  cd c:\windows\system32
    * Type the following and then press Enter:  regsvr32 mscomct2.ocx

    or

    For Windows 32 bit:

    C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe mscomct2.ocx

    For Windows 64 bit:

    C:\Windows\SysWoW64\regsvr32.exe mscomct2.ocx

    All cannot be use.

    Anyone can help me?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Ms Nis,

Before going further, could you please provide the bit version information of both your Office and Windows? You can collect the version of Excel via File > Account > About Excel.

As far as I know, MSCOMCT2.OCX works only on 32-bit systems, so if you are using a 64-bit version of Office, then you won't be able to install the control.

If you are running 32-bit version of Excel, generally we could take the steps you have mentioned in your thread to register the calendar control in your system.

I tested in my current Excel 2013 (32-bit) and Windows 10 (64-bit) by following the detailed instructions in the article below and the control can be registered properly:

Hope the above information can be helpful.

  • I found an ugly old xlam that works on Office 2016 64-bit and is free.

    Google "ron de bruin datepicker"

I add my voice to the call for a good 64-bit mscomct2.ocx

  • The important part would be of you are having X86 or x64 AND if your Office is X86 or x64.

But if you do have x64 then read what has already been written!
