SCCM Secondary site server issues. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi There:

I had a primary site server, and install a new secondary site server recently.

The secondary site installation log show everything is good.

    1. i cannot find anything in Database Replication,

    2. I cannot see site system role with secondary site code in Monitoring/System status/site status.

    3. In Administration/Hierarchy Configuration/File Replication, I can see two item of primary site code and secondary site code.

    4. I can telnet 4022 on secondary SQL, but not primary SQL. Both SQL are named instance and use port 1488, not default 1433.

    5. Run SQL command "seletc name, state_desc, port from sys.tcp_endpoints where type=3", primary show 1488, but secondary show 4022.

    5. in Monitoring/site Hierarchy, there is a question mark between primary and secondary site. and all status is unknow.

is primary/secondary using SQL replication? How to confirm my secondary site is good?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

So you have checked Configmgrsetup.log, have you checked SiteComp.log?

  • Try to use the default port 1433 and reinstall again.

    Enabled following ports

    TCP 4022 (SQL)
    TCP 1433 (SQL)
    TCP 135 (RPC/WMI)
    TCP 445 (SMB)

  • Configmgrsetup.log did not show any error.

SiteComp.log show "Failed to get top level site code."

We have two primary site in AD. One used for Image Deployment and Training. And one used for Microsoft updates in production, secondary site is under production SCCM.

  • On primary site server, default instance and named instance both are same version of SQL 2014. why 4022 is not opened. I used SQL studio and checked the Broker Enable is True.

Microsoft document say we can use named SQL instance.

On Secondary site server, both defaulter and named SQL are SQL2014 too and 4022 opened,

  • Run a SQL query to open the 4022
