DHCP Scope RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear all

We have two IP range on two different subnet. We are using HP layer 3 switch ( switch IP 10.76.80.5 ) on default vlan1 ( 10.76.80.0 /21 subnet)

    1st range 10.76.80.0 /21 on default Vlan 1 ( DNS,DHCP servers and other clients are on this 10.76.80.0 /21 subnet ).

    2nd  range 10.77.104.0 /21 and created multipule vlans as below HP layer 3 switch ( switch IP 10.76.80.5 ) on default vlan1 ( 10.76.80.0 /21 subnet)

    Vlan 2 - 10.77.104.254

    Vlan 3 - 10.77.105.254

    Vlan 5 - 10.77.106.254

10.77.104.0 /21 IP range for the site and route them down  Layer 3 Core switch IP 10.76.80.5. Routing changes has been made.

to get to the 10.97.104.0/24 network next hope is: 10.76.80.5 /21

to get to the 10.97.105.0/24 network next hope is: 10.76.80.5 /21.

to get to the 10.97.105.0/24 network next hope is: 10.76.80.5 /21.

How do I connect Computers on Vlan 2 to our main domain network which is on default vlan1 10.76.80.0/21. How do I configure DHCP scope for vlan 2 subnet 10.97.104.0/24.

Please see attached diagram as well.

    Your help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

  • Hi ,

Please check the route table and add the correct route to the routing table.

You might try Relay Agent Information policy to configure VLAN scope.

    For your reference:

DHCP policies based on Relay Agent Information Option (option 82), DHCP Snooping and IP Source Guard

  • Hi ,

Could you ping VlAN 1 from VLAN 2? If not , what's the error message? Like TTL Expired in Transit or Request Timed Out ?

Also check the ping result from VLAN 1.

    Best Regards,

    Candy
