  • I'm trying to get windows to play a startup .WAV file

I'm trying to get windows to play an InternetExplorer startup .WAV file.

I created a task in Microsoft > Windows > Multimedia

    Program / Script = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe"

    Add Arguments (optional) = "C:\Users\Albert's_Computer\My Documents\ShutDown.WAV"

Start In (optional) = "C:\Users\Albert's_Computer\My Documents"

What did I do wrong ???? Do I need quote the marks around the entries????

    Hope someone can help......

I'm trying to intercept certain programs with a branch to a (text-to-speech "SayIt" created .WAV file)

So the computer says some stupid thing when certain programs launch or exit..

  • Hi,

Please do not include quotation marks or a trailing slash for “Start in (optional)” option.

For the detailed information, please refer to the following Microsoft TechNet article:

Configure an Immediate Task Item (Windows Vista and later versions)
