dfsr replication count mismatch RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I set up a dfsr environment and can see that files marked as hidden does not replicate. Is this by design? is there a way to still replicate them? the files is in the form ~tempfile.docx and with the hidden attribute activated.

  • By default any file prefixed with a ~ symbol won't be replicated as these are usually temporary files.  To change this, open DFS Management and in the replication group edit the properties of the replicated folder.  On the General tab change the File Filter accordingly.

Do you really want to replicate temporary files though?  The chances are they won't get replicated anyway as they'll be in use, and they're usually removed when the application has finished with them.

  • Hi,

As Dai said, by default temp file will not be replicated. The filters are set in DFS management.

Also please refer to this article for files with Temporary attributes:
